LONDON(BO Correspondent):Altaf Hussain, the founder of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), has asserted that true freedom for the people of Pakistan cannot be achieved without being freed from the domination of the generals. He expressed these views while addressing his workers on the 46th foundation day of APMSO, organized by the MQM UK chapter in London on Saturday.
Hussain asserted that true freedom for Pakistanis hinges on breaking free from military control. While acknowledging the army’s importance, he emphasized its need to stay within constitutional boundaries, avoiding interference in civil affairs.
Accusing British agents of ethnic division, Hussain highlighted the plight of Muhajirs forced to assimilate in Sindh. He claimed the military and ISI fueled tensions, portraying MQM as antagonistic toward Punjabis and Pakhtuns.
Despite advocating for a strong military, Hussain opposes its political involvement. His stance echoes Imran Khan’s, emphasizing national defense over interference. He also warned against Operation Azam-e Istikham, drawing from his own wartime experiences.
