New air route between Saudi Arabia and China to commence from April 8

DUBAI – A new air route is set to be launched between Riyadh and Shanghai starting April 8, following a collaboration between the Saudi Air Connectivity Programme (ACP) and China Eastern Airlines.

The service will be operated using an A330-200 aircraft, providing an annual capacity of 35,880 inbound seats. This will connect Pudong Airport in Shanghai with King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency.

Majid Khan, CEO of ACP, stated, “The launch of this new route with one of the world’s largest airlines marks another step towards strengthening connectivity between Saudi Arabia and China, a key priority market for us.”

This move aligns with Saudi Arabia’s strategic interests to deepen ties with China and cater to the increasing demand for travel between the two countries.

In line with its Vision 2030, Saudi Arabia is aiming to boost its travel and tourism sector. The kingdom aspires to become a leading aviation hub, bridging the East and the West, and positioning itself as a major attraction in the region.
