Two men involved in collision with police vehicle in Tervuren to remain in prison

Two individuals arrested last Friday in Tervuren, Flemish Brabant, for attempted murder will remain in custody for at least an additional month, following a decision by the Brussels Council Chamber.

The two Albanians, aged 28 and 59, were detained in connection with an incident last Friday in which a car in which they were travelling in Crainhem hit a police vehicle while the law enforcers were involved in an investigation.

After the accident, police fired two shots. The fleeing vehicle and its two passengers were later intercepted in Tervuren, although a third individual managed to escape.

Federal Police special units searched the surrounding area, including a golf course. A helicopter was requested, but the third individual has remained at large.

On Thursday, the two suspects appeared before the Brussels Council Chamber, which extended their preventive detention by a month.
